Say, does this mean MR was one of the people who voted the VD ticket?

You beat me to that particular bit of speculation, but I'm guessing yes, yes he was.

I'm calling DOUBLE SHENANIGANS: this alleged email is fake and VD is shitstirring.

+0.5.

VD is a malignant troll, and I'm pretty sure he basically hates SFWA and wants it to die in a fire because it failed to elect him President by a humiliating margin. Shit-stirring is de rigeur.

I am less convinced that he'd fake up email from an actual named individual with a public reputation (as opposed to doing the usual "the lurkers support me in email" fan dance).

On the other hand, I've only met Resnick the once and he did not make a good impression. That email is about as un-self-aware as I would have expected of him. More fool him, for sending VD a private email and expecting VD to do the decent thing and not use it as a stick to beat every target in sight with.

Here's an exchange between Beale and Laura Resnick

I don't think Mike Resnick is a close friend of Beale's, or for that matter, would even give him the time of day.

That thread mostly tells me that Scalzi has WAY too much free time on his hands. Rampant troll-feeding.

Re: For the record (Anonymous) Expand
For the first time in a long time, I'm actually going to say that I have zero desire to hit that link. MPRs are usually entertaining to my cynical self, but anything VD has to say really does go in one ear and out the alimentary canal, unprocessed.

I second that notion. None of the Theodore Beale quotes I've stumbled across have given me any desire to go looking for them on purpose. The closest I've come to it was when I heard somebody had bestowed a vile nickname on Scalzi and I googled to find out who it was so I could better avoid them.

I shall run out and buy a pink shirt tomorrow.

Preferably with a rabbit embroidered on it.

Is there a significance to the rabbit? I don't pay much attention to Beale, so I don't know if rabbits have a snarky meaning towards him.

Of course, maybe you just like rabbits, which is cool too.

Why are you continuing to read things having to do with Vox Day/Beale? Is it some deep-rooted masochism on your part?

More importantly, why is he linking them here for us, in a temporary lapse of judgement or sanity, to click on?

Erk. Clicked through before I noticed the tag.

Pinkshirts? Really? They're still pretending that "free speech" doesn't include the right of others to criticize the crap that they spew?

Oh hey, look, Lou Antonelli is a Vox Day fanboy. Welp. All sorts of things are making sense now.

Article started out ripcorded.

More like, it's a suicide mission to enter his website's airspace.

Has anything official happened with the 'kick this dude out of SFWA' push?
