A while back Groucho realized he can rest his face between two radiator pipes and warm his head that way. He really likes that.

Just now he got up on his hind legs to get my attention. He likes to put his front paws on something to brace himself (the vanity, a couple of times Tapestry) and this time it was the radiator. I could actually see him realize he can warm his whole tummy if he leans against the radiator that way. He was still hugging the rad when I left.

I was at the zoo and noticed that one of the fruitbats had discovered that if it hung from feet AND wing-hands on the ceiling mesh, it could neatly position its tummy right under a heatlamp. You will believe a bat can purrrr.... :)

I'm sorry, but every time I see the word "fruitbat" I think of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

Which was not present, but what the hey? :) I tend to think of the Century of the Fruitbat in the Discworld stories.

What does the term "flying fox" evoke?

Oh Groucho! (Waits for the inevitable pipe knocking that will make Groucho think that radiator is purring)

Too soon we grow old and too late, warm.

It is obvious that you do not keep the house warm enough for your feline overlords. Hey, maybe this explains all his attempts to kill you?

So many of the Great Discoveries are made by chance.

For some years I have had the suspicion that cats know precisely when they are being adorable.

Fortunately this does not qualify as a problem. :)

Oh, I'm certain of it. :)

For some reason someone once left the cat carrier on top of the radiator just inside the front door. This is now Ekaterin's favorite place in the whole world. Whatever prompted her to get up there & try it out is what I wonder. Our radiators are somewhere between 3 and 4 feet tall.
