It's a popular genre!

The plural of anecdote is not data, but in our house it is the teenage girl who reads and the teenage boy who searches out places to skateboard, snowboard, and bike. (He is what they call a Reluctant Reader, not to be confused with Mrs. Parker's Constant Reader.)

Now, the Young Adult Daughter finds her books in the following ways: She sees them in the bookstore; she sees them in the libary; her corporeal friends force them upon her; her incorporeal friends on Tumblr and Facebook mention them; John Green mentions them, so they simply must be read; and sometimes her parents give her books to read. But she also reads tremendous amounts of fan-fiction related to the fandom of the month.
