Also, my goodness, they're getting along remarkably well. When we got two kittens to keep Puddin* company after her sister died, it was months before anyone would sit that close. Only the very dead of winter finally managed it--the house was cold, we weren't always home, and the kittens had body heat! And that was with one of the kittens having decided after a month or so that she really, really wanted Puddin to love her and maybe be her new mom. It was a weird and tense several months.

Right next to each other, peaceably, on the couch! I have a feeling they're going to be good friends.

*she came pre-named and my daughter felt it would be wrong to change it

The pic is kind of small, but is that Cheddar biting Zeus' tail? Because Zeus looks like he's thinking, "I'm -->this<-- close to whapping him on the nose."

Eep! I see that now too, I overlooked that.

There were some hisses, growls and smacks, generally involving the kitten chewing on Zeus' tail or racing up to him and jamming its face into Zeus's face for attention.

But those two photos happened in that order: Z scowled at the kitten and the kitten immediately began chewing on his tail.

Somewhere the kitten learned a posture that seems intended to convey "but I'm cute!"

Two things the kitten has not mastered:

The idea that when Zeus heads to his Box of Solitude, he wants to be left along.

The idea that just because he can see through the glass coffee table does not mean he can propel himself through it.
