What I did yesterday evening

Discovered a Playbook isn't the best device to take photos of fireworks with.

Found a much easier spot to get to than the traditional spot I've usually used to watch the fireworks, with a nice road and no serious downgrades between where we parked and where we say (to make up for it, getting out of the RIM parking lot was time consuming).

Felt sorry for the terrified dog howling its unhappiness all through the show.

Noticed there was a skunk somewhere upwind. Did not seem to be triggered by the fireworks, though.

Also posted at Dreamwidth, where there are comment count unavailable comment(s); comment here or there.

Not sure of the settings available on Playbook cameras, but generally you need to have a long exposure 1/2 to 5 seconds to get the full effect (Playbook looks much faster than that), most compact cameras (like the one you took on your Hawaii trip) have a "Fireworks" setting that works fairly well.

It probably would have done ok capturing a video.
