To celebrate the 40th anniversary of that historic landing, NASA will replay audio from the entire Apollo 11 mission at exactly the same time and date that it was broadcast in 1969.

It would be interesting to know when they first stepped out of the capsule. All I remember was that Mom made me stay up to watch and it was past my bedtime.

Wikipedia has it as 10:56pm EDT, July 20th.

-- Steve's mildly disgruntled that his one-lung workstation is so underwhelming it couldn't follow the launch replay.

PS: A good site to follow is www.wechoosethemoon.org set up by the Kennedy library; it's replaying the mission in real-time to commemorate the 40th anniversary. Be advised that the site is incredibly Flash-reliant and has a lot of rich media.
