Nipples aren't meant to go in the eye like that. Try an ice-pack.

I suspect that, if Tarot had teleported the nuke to Bikini Atoll or something, the next issue would have featured G-String Godzilla.

And I'll take the mushroom cloud over that, any day.

Speaking as a former teenage boy, some of the frames Chris was kind enough to supply for us would NOT have appealed. While Tarot herself is ... overdone, I can easily see her appeal to that demographic, but (A) Skeleton Man is creepily too much, and (B) That fight scene clip? AHHH! My EYES! The goggles, they do NOTHING! There are at least two aspects of that scene where his anatomical wrongness is NOT helping his exploitation cause at all.

Yeah. The fight in particular is just... ugly. I want my gratuitous and overdone stuff be done with better skill and taste.

Aaagh. Latex Red anatomy. Latex Red *name*. The costumes. What was described and not shown. The cheesiness...

Aaagh.

Ya know, I'm a big sf/f collector, and people sometimes ask me, "Hey, Bob, how is it that you aren't interested in comic books?

(And sometimes they make the case: "Comics have matured, Sandman, Maus, uniquely American art form, graphic novels, Gaiman, blah blah blah..."

Now I can just point them to Tarot as my answer.

Indeed. Just as one can point to bad porn as a reason why you shouldn't go to any movie, John Norman as to why SF/fantasy is a waste of time, Fox News as to why television is uniformly bad, Scandanavian Pop as to why all music is an utter waste of time.

Wow, life is so much more simple using that logic.

It's probably more valid to say "You know, I understand there's good stuff out there, but there's also a fucking ton of total garbage, and it's just not worth the effort of sorting through it."

Then again, I grew up in the age of neat indie comics, many of which are surprisingly nongross, and had no idea this Tarot... thing, existed until James started posting about it.

"You know, I understand there's good stuff out there, but there's also a fucking ton of total garbage, and it's just not worth the effort of sorting through it."

(Yeah, this is closer to what I DO tell them.)

And: "Nobody can be interested in everything."

But pointing to Tarot will save time.

Hmm. I see potential for a collaboration with OSC. Innocent children tortured by Islamofascist terrists then rescued by the ghosts of firefighters killed on 9/11. It's a guaranteed audience-grabber.

*blink*

OW.

My EYES.

/me feels it seeping into her brain

OW! OWOWOWOW!

Not enough brain bleach in the WORLD!

Good gods on a fricking pogo stick, WTF is up with that "Latex Red" thang? One massive puerile wanker fantasy if I *EVAR* saw one--right down to the minuscule labia, but utterly lacking nipples on those back-breaking gargantuan ta-tas--but WAIT! There's MORE! Check out the crippling footwear!

What an insult to women, to graphic novelists, hell to the pen and paper used to draw such crap.
