More ReformaTory PR
This was also printed on the cheap in black and white and looks more like something the tinfoil hat brigade might have come up with to warn the populace about the terrible menace of CHUD. The topic in this one is the shadowy menace of YOUTH CRIME (as represented by a masked kid in a hoodie) and that the ReformaTories are dealing with the issue.

What peeves me is that they're printing this propaganda on my tax dollar. Party of fiscal restraint? Yeah, right.

-- Steve loved the one about how house arrest wasn't punishment enough. Obviously the New Government wants to place minor criminals in among the major ones, in order to train a better class of criminals for Canada's future.

It's so shoddily made that I cannot image it cost them much to produce. We're talking something the Loud Shouty Man could produce at a Kinkos.

I was assuming you were talking about the ones that look sorta like a political version of a Jack Chick tract.

-- Steve thinks it says a lot that Nu-Tory anti-crime propaganda would remind him of sludge like that.

It sounds like they're not wasting any taxpayer money on high quality printing or graphic design, though.

They couldn't possibly waste taxpayers' money on high-quality graphic design. The political left has all the good graphic designers.

So, if I understand you correctly, the 'Intelligent Designers' are _actually_ from the political left?

Heh.

Say, can I reproduce the document here without running into copyright issues? Assuming I do it before C61 passes, I mean?

I suppose fair use will allow this:

Former Liberal governments seemed to ignore the growing threat of youth crime [...].

Has there been a growing threat of youth crime in recent memory or are we talking about crime stats from the Trudeau era?

The US has laws saying everything a government produces is in the public domain. Unfortunately, we don't. It's copyrighted....

(Whether or not you should care about Paranoid Reform Man's rights is another issue entirely)

You can, however, post a photograph of it in context, such as the tract lining the cat box. That might also qualify as political satire, too — and it would be a practical use for it :-)

Our neighbourhood got a similar foldered B&W 8.5x11 Tory propaganda sheet, except ours was attacking Stephane Dion's Green plan. I was not impressed that it was franked by an MP whom I'd never even heard of. The least they could have done is used a local Tory MP -- not that I think it's appropriate to use free mailing privileges for straight political propaganda in any case.

We’re getting that in Winnipeg, too. I scanned a modified version and posted it. So annoying.
