Tor.com is making a couple of dozen books available for free.

Yup.

The only reason "The Family Trade" isn't one of them: Pan Macmillan, aka Tor UK, only published it about 2 months before this program kicked off.

I suspect there may be more free releases in due course, for the same reason Baen do their freebies.

But you had to register for that. Basically trading your contact information for the product. So not entirely free. This is.
